During the summer, CP Theatre puts on week-long musical theater day camps for students ages 5-18. Camps are designed to be a fun and energetic immersion into the world of musical theater. Camps are jam-packed with games, activities, and interactive workshops that build performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Typical camps include team competitions; rotations through drama, dance, and music workshops; and a concluding showcase for family and friends. Through praise, worship, prayer, and daily devotions, CP Theatre teen camps are particularly focused on spiritual growth.
CP Theatre Summer Camps are all about fun, friendships, and theatrics. Camps are great yearly tradition for your child!
Christian Performance Theater (CP Theatre) is a fall, winter and spring after-school theater arts program in all aspects of the performing arts. Students ages 5-18 are instructed in voice, drama, dance, improvisation, musical theater and more. Ages 8-18 currently enrolled in the class session are welcome to audition for a Broadway-style production. Parents also make a commitment to serve as a vital and active participant of the production by serving on production committees. We round out the year with our summer camps combining games, summer fun and opportunities for learning and growing in theatrical skills.
Hello CP Theatre families! Still isn't the easiest thing to write after writing CYT Wichita for over 11 years but yet, here we are with a new name, Christian Performance Theatre. Thank you, Linda, for your wonderful video (click HERE if you didn't get to watch it yet). Both my wife, Audra, and I are proud to call Linda "friend" and I proudly accept the baton and position of Artistic Director.
The above couldn't be more true in 2020 as we're all aware. CYT Wichita was faced with certain monthly financial obligations that, quite honestly, brought us to a crossroads where closure was a foreseeable and disappointing option. "But progress is optional" and we are choosing to take that different and less traveled road.
We, as the family that has been developed over the years, value YOU. Our families and their students that have 'taken the stage' with us and the history of work that the Lord has done in the lives of so many helps us to make the decision to press in and reorganize. We may not be able to have five performances, with 700 in attendance, three times a year, nor can we have a large warehouse during these restrictive times. What we can do is come together to teach, learn, develop, work, love, laugh and produce great things. The balance of the staff, the board, our heart for God to be glorified in the arts and our desire to serve you and your family all remain the same as what you already know about us.
Thank you for allowing my wife and I to serve alongside you as we put "Character First" and become Christian Performance Theatre together. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me, call the office or reach out to our Board President, Jim Logan.
